This course is built on three interconnected foundations: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Jon Kabat-Zinn’s philosophy of “putting out the welcome mat” for every thought, feeling, and sensation, and the gentle, liberating principles taught by Dr. Guy Meadows and Devin Burke. Together, they form an approach that shifts the focus away from fighting sleep, and toward creating the conditions where rest — and ultimately sleep — can naturally return.
Natural, refreshing sleep can change your life. It changed mine in ways I never imagined. My approach is grounded primarily in ACT-for-insomnia, which helps you change your relationship with the thoughts, sensations, and nighttime worries that make sleep feel like a struggle. Instead of putting pressure on sleep itself, ACT focuses on reducing the struggle around it — which is often where real change happens. I also integrate key elements of CBT-I and other evidence-based insomnia treatments, giving me a flexible toolkit to tailor our work to your specific needs. And because I’ve personally come off long-term sleep medication, I understand both the emotional and practical challenges of this process. I offer compassionate, practical guidance designed to support your nervous system, build confidence, and help you return to natural, sustainable sleep.
